Dr. Graber at The Dermatology Institute of Boston is conducting a new clinical study for facial acne. The study is for a new, FDA-cleared acne treatment called Sebacia Microparticles. The Sebacia Microparticles are used in conjunction with laser to help reduce facial acne. Participants in the study must be 12 – 45 years old, with mild to moderate facial acne. Melanoma Awareness Month

May is Melanoma Awareness Month

Skin cancer is by far the most common of all cancers according to the American Cancer Society. Melanoma accounts for only about 1 percent of skin cancers but causes a majority of its deaths. More than 91,000 new cases of melanoma are expected to be diagnosed in 2018, with 9,320 people predicted to die from it. Melanoma is preventable! We can do an exam to check for signs of skin cancer. UV damage: how far does it go?

Since it is about a month prior to students spring break, we will be focusing on the importance of sunscreen. With the equipment to determine UV damages (courtesy of Impact Melanoma, MA) which can show the amount of damage the sun already done to one’s skin, we will invite the college students and staff to safely evaluate their condition. www.melanomaprevention.org
