How to treat it?

There is a wide range of acne treatments available. Some treatments such as washes and gels are available at your local drugstore without a prescription. Other prescription treatments are available from your dermatologist and can include creams, washes and pills. There are also chemical peels and laser treatments available to improve acne.

For some people, certain foods may cause acne. This is not known for sure and still needs to be studied. Acne can cause permanent scarring and there are a number of treatments available to minimize acne scarring.
